The Children's Museum of Wilmington is thrilled to now offer a sensory friendly experience for visitors with sensory sensitivities from 10AM-12PM on selected Sundays. Enjoy The Children’s Museum of Wilmington during exclusive hours designed for children with varying sensory, developmental, or physical needs. Explore the Museum in a comfortable and accepting environment that features fewer guests, adjusted exhibits, light and sound reduction, extra visual safety signage, sound maps, and designated calming spaces.
Sensory Bags are available for check out at the Front Desk which include sound canceling headphones, communication cards, sunglasses, and fidget and calming toys.
Designated quiet spaces will be the Calming Cave in the Nurture Nook and the Bonus Room where curtains will be closed, lights will be off, and bean bags and weighted blankets will be available.
Thank you to Access Family Services for being our April 2nd Sensory Sunday sponsor!
